About Mrs. Holcomb

I grew up right here in Marietta, GA.  In fact, I grew up just a few minutes from Cheatham Hill, although it hadn’t been built when I was an elementary age kiddo.  Though my family lived close by, I attended school in Norcross, where my mom was a teacher for 35 years.  After graduating from high school, I went away to college in Nashville, TN.  I was determined to be anything but a teacher after watching all of the time and hard work it required from my mom, but in the end, I couldn’t deny that I was meant to spend my days working with children!  The only jobs I have ever had have revolved around kiddos—first babysitting, participating in mission trips that focused on kids, working at Primrose, and even spending my afternoons working at an ASP program close to my college.  I returned home after receiving my Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education from Lipscomb University.  I taught preschool for half a year, before starting my official teaching career here at Cheatham Hill.  This will be my 19th year in the classroom…18th year as a 2nd grade teacher, and I am so looking forward to the excitement that will come with this new year!

I was extremely humbled and honored to be named CHES Teacher of the Year in 2012-2013

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my 3 boys….
